HTC-made second T-Mobile Shadow was unveiled today at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The phone adds to a entry-level smartphone line from T-Mobile.
The phone will run on Windows Mobile 6.1, but will not have 3G support on T-Mobile's network, only Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. A 2.6" display, SureType keyboard, and 2 megapixel camera are also included, as well as support for T-Mobile Hotspot calling.
The phone was rumoured to be named Shadow II and Shadow 2009, but the network decided to maintain the original T-Mobile Shadow name.
The initial experience with publications which handled it report a fast processor with "slick animations," even though it has just 260MHz of speed, a "smooth and solid sliding mechanism," and a "handset a high quality feel".
